用英文寫讀后感篇1
i believe that one of the factors that makes a piece of literature or even a movie a masterpiece is how well the reader can relate to the story. this is definitely a book everyone can relate to.
the adventures of tom sawyer is a literary masterpieces, written in 1876 by the famous author mark twain. tom sawyer is a mischievous young boy who lives in the small town on the mississippi river called st. petersburg. the story line is simple, the book reads like a biography or a memoir of a summer in tom sawyers life.
tom sawyer seems to be the precursor of and the template for misfit kids such as dennis the menace, malcolm in the middle, and calvin and hobbs. what makes this story great is that tom sawyer represents everything that is great about childhood. the book is filled with toms adventures playing pirates and war with his friend joe harper. tom has a trusted friend, huck finn, who few of the adults approve of. the book is filled with ideas of how the world works, such as how pirates and robbers work, that are so innocent, they could only come from a child. it is a story filled with action, adventure, ingenious ideas, love, and schoolyard politics. the whole story is seemingly a complication of what people did or wish they did during their childhood.
the book is a little difficult to read at first. personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. other than referring to persons of african decent in derogatory terms (which im sure uses terms even young children already know), the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. i highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages.

book review: the call of the wild
as a type of novelette, i wasnt used to this cos ive just finished harrypotter so in occasions novelette wrote very briefly. the background of the author was very poor, and precisely the time to seek gold. part of the novel means to expose the hardness of dogs at that time. men were crazy about gold, the main character, buck, was stolen by a gardener of a lawyer who owns buck.
the man with the red sweater taught him the law of clubs, this was a good beginning. the trading road led him at last to two couriers, who knew how to treat dogs. then the dog team was traded to a three-people family who were seeking good in alaska. but they didnt know how to treat dogs and at last dogs and men were drowned in the water, except buck. he was picked up by a man. and eventually buck was back to the wild-where his ancestors had been.
in my opinion a good novel could make readers cry, yell, etc. i clenched my fist when the family treated the dog team badly, and had a wonderful feeling when the man picked up buck and treated him like his own son. it had feeling, this novel…

today, i am bored, i do not know what to do, walking and walking, my eyes inadvertently strabismus a book on the table - jane. love. maybe the cousin forgot to take it, i began to see a little, i do not know what, i have a relish to see...
after reading half of it, i realized that jane eyre was a person who carried all the misfortunes of nature and society to her. she started her life: she had no parents, no money, she was a poor girl, but she had a strong personality. i think of it, and i think i should be strong and confident.
yes, we should not give up in this way. although he has no money, she has a good heart and a strong personality. so i'm deeply moved. after reading, i understand a reason that rich is no use, if you do not have a firm heart, you will not be happy. one's own destiny depends on oneself, not to let others turn our fate into a tragedy.

based on mark twain's novel, 'the millionaire pound note' takes an interesting satirical look at the hypocrisy stemming from class distinction in the 50s england. england is a country where class and wealth are given extreme significance, especially among the rich. the film shows the hypocrisy that existed among these people, how the rich are quick to change face when in an instant they find out that you're a man of wealth and how within the next moment they revert back to their condescending selves when all wealth is lost. interestingly, 'the millionaire' also briefly looks at how the english perceived americans in that era. rich americans were welcomed as outsiders and the poor were quickly shunned away. the fact that he's an outsider either makes him more appealing or the complete opposite. the story sticks to the main theme by emphasizing on the hypocrisy of the upper class society but at the same time it also creates a balance that prevents the movie from being a mockery of the british society. the movie drags at some point but the love story appears at the right time and there is plenty of comedy to keep one entertained. a charming gregory peck totally nails the part and the luminous jane griffiths is a treat. reginald beckwith, as peck's sidekick rock is amusing. the ending is a little predictable but the director does an overall good job by rounding it up and presenting his points.
